Yangtze River Delta
The Yangtze Delta, also known as the Yangtze River Delta, is a megalopolis in eastern China that comprises the Wu-speaking areas of Shanghai, southern Jiangsu, northern Zhejiang, and southern Anhui. It is one of China's most important metropolitan areas, home to over 240 million people and accounting for a fourth of the country's GDP. The region has a long history dating back to the Neolithic Liangzhu culture and has been a major economic and cultural centre throughout Chinese history, with cities such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai emerging as major commercial and industrial hubs. Today, the Yangtze Delta is a hub for manufacturing, finance, and tourism, with a GDP of approximately US$4.3 trillion in 2021, making it one of the fastest-growing and richest regions in East Asia.learn more on wikipedia
