Winter Olympics
The Winter Olympic Games are a major international multi-sport event held every four years for sports practiced on snow and ice, with the first Winter Olympic Games held in Chamonix, France in 1924. The modern Olympic Games were inspired by the ancient Olympic Games and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was founded in 1894. The original five Winter Olympic Sports were bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, Nordic skiing, and skating, which have evolved over the years with the addition of new sports and disciplines, such as alpine skiing, luge, and snowboarding. The Winter Olympic Games have been hosted on three continents by thirteen countries, with the most recent games being held in China in 2022, and the next games scheduled to be held in Italy in 2026.learn more on wikipedia
