Ural Mountains
The Ural Mountains are a mountain range in Eurasia that runs north-south through the Russian Federation and northwestern Kazakhstan, forming part of the boundary between Europe and Asia. The range has an average altitude of 1,000-1,300 meters and its highest point is Mount Narodnaya, which reaches 1,894 meters. The mountains have significant mineral resources, including metal ores, coal, and precious stones, and have contributed to the Russian economy since the 18th century. The name "Ural" is derived from various sources, including Turkic, Ob-Ugric, and Bashkir languages, and has been associated with a hero named Ural who sacrificed his life for his people.
