Trinity
The Trinity is a Christian doctrine that defines one God existing in three coeternal, consubstantial divine persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. This doctrine is based on the concept of one essence or nature that defines what God is, and the three persons that define who God is. The doctrine was first formulated among early Christians in the mid-2nd century and is now accepted by most mainline Christian groups. It is considered non-Christian by opponents, known as antitrinitarians or nontrinitarians, who hold positions such as Unitarianism, Binitarianism, and Modalism. The Trinity is based on the concept of a triadic understanding of God in the New Testament and is supported by Trinitarian formulas, despite not being explicitly stated in the New Testament books.learn more on wikipedia
