The Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is a public airport located in Crystal City, Virginia, approximately five miles from Washington, D.C. It is the 24th-busiest airport in the nation and the busiest in the Washington metropolitan area. The airport has two terminals, with the original terminal still in use as Terminal 1, and a larger second terminal, now known as Terminal 2, that opened in 1997. It serves 98 nonstop destinations and is a hub for American Airlines, hosting international flights with U.S. Customs and Border Protection preclearance facilities. The airport is owned by the federal government and operated by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, along with Dulles International Airport. It has a new passenger record of 25.4 million passengers in 2023 and is home to Coast Guard Air Station Washington. The main runway is the busiest in the nation.learn more on wikipedia
