Quran
The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be a revelation directly from God, and is considered the finest work in Arabic literature. It is composed of 114 chapters and 6,236 verses, and is regarded as the most important miracle of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Muslims believe the Quran was revealed to Muhammad over a period of 23 years, and is a complete code of conduct for all aspects of life. The Quran was compiled by Muhammad's companions shortly after his death, and a standard version was established by Caliph Uthman. There are variant readings and interpretations of the Quran, and it is often recited in Arabic during prayers, with those who have memorized the entire Quran referred to as hafiz.learn more on wikipedia
