Place De La Concorde

The Place de la Concorde is a public square in Paris, France, measuring 7.6 hectares in area and located in the city's eighth arrondissement at the eastern end of the Champs-Élysées. The square was originally designed as the site for an equestrian statue of King Louis XV, commissioned in 1748, and was finished by 1772. The square was a central stage for the events of the French Revolution, including the storming of the Bastille, the execution of Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, and Maximilien Robespierre, and the installation of a statue of "Liberty" in 1792.
