Paris 2024 Olympic Games
The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad and branded as Paris 2024, took place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, in France, with events held in 16 additional cities across metropolitan France and one subsite in Tahiti, French Polynesia. Paris was awarded the Games in 2017, becoming the second city to host the Summer Olympics three times, and marked the centenary of Paris 1924 and Chamonix 1924. The Games featured the debut of breaking as an Olympic sport and were the final Olympics held during the IOC presidency of Thomas Bach. The United States topped the medal table, with China tying for gold medals but finishing second overall, and the host nation, France, finished fifth. The Games were considered a success despite some controversies, and Paris became the first Olympics to reach full gender parity on the field of play.learn more on wikipedia
