Nagorno-Karabakh

Nagorno-Karabakh is a region in Azerbaijan, covering the southeastern stretch of the Lesser Caucasus mountain range, with a majority-Armenian population. The region was governed by the breakaway Republic of Artsakh, also known as the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), from 1994 to 2023, but was dissolved in September 2023 after a military offensive by Azerbaijan.
