MQ-9 Reaper
The General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the United States Air Force. It is a larger and more capable aircraft than the earlier MQ-1 Predator, with a 950-shaft-horsepower turboprop engine and the ability to carry 15 times more ordnance payload. The MQ-9 is monitored and controlled by aircrew in the Ground Control Station and is used for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance and has been used in hunter-killer roles. As of May 2021, the USAF operated over 300 MQ-9 Reapers, with a projected end of service life in 2035 and an estimated average unit cost of $32 million. The MQ-9 has been used by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and several other countries, and has been further developed into the MQ-9B, also known as the SkyGuardian or SeaGuardian.learn more on wikipedia
