MIM-23 Hawk
The Raytheon MIM-23 HAWK is an American medium-range surface-to-air missile designed to be a mobile counterpart to the MIM-14 Nike Hercules. It entered service with the US Army in 1959 and underwent a major improvement program in 1971 as the Improved Hawk, or I-Hawk, which improved its performance and replaced its radar systems. The Hawk system was continually upgraded throughout its 40-year lifespan, with improvements including improved ECCM, a new warhead, and increased mobility. Approximately 40,000 missiles were produced, and it was used by the US Army and Marine Corps until it was replaced by the MIM-104 Patriot in 1994. The Hawk missile was also produced outside the US and was employed in combat by other nations.learn more on wikipedia
