J-10
The Chengdu J-10 is a Chinese medium-weight, single-engine, multirole combat aircraft with a maximum speed of Mach 1.8, produced by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation for the People's Liberation Army Air Force and Navy, and exported to the Pakistan Air Force. The J-10 is mainly designed for air-to-air combat, but can also perform strike missions, and is considered to be a 4.5-generation fighter jet. The aircraft's development was initiated in 1981 with a proposal from PLAAF Commander Zhang Tingfa, and was selected from design proposals made by three major aircraft design institutes. The J-10 features a delta wing and canard design, and incorporates modern development and acquisition processes, including the use of digital design, modelling, and testing. The aircraft's engine was selected during the design proposal stage, and was ultimately chosen as the Shenyang WS-10 in 1983.learn more on wikipedia
