Hamptons
The Hamptons are a popular seaside resort located on the South Fork of Long Island, in Suffolk County, New York, consisting of the towns of Southampton and East Hampton. The area is connected to the rest of Long Island and New York City by the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, the Montauk Highway, and private bus services, as well as ferries to Shelter Island and Connecticut. Historically, the Hamptons were devoted to agriculture and fishing, but have since become a hub for artists, artisans, and professionals, with a strong arts community dating back to the 19th century. The area is known for its high-end residential real estate, with prices among the highest in the US, particularly in the Estate Areas of Southampton Village, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Sagaponack, and East Hampton Village.learn more on wikipedia
