George Washington Bridge
The George Washington Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge spanning the Hudson River, connecting Fort Lee in Bergen County, New Jersey, with the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It is the world's busiest motor vehicle bridge, carrying over 104 million vehicles in 2019, and has a total of 14 vehicular lanes. The bridge is owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and measures 4,760 feet long, with a main span of 3,500 feet. It was designed by Othmar Ammann, Allston Dana, and Edward W. Stearns, and its construction required 113,000 short tons of fabricated steel, 28,000 short tons of wire, and 20,000 short tons of masonry. The bridge carries 14 lanes of traffic, with eight lanes on the upper level and six lanes on the lower level, and has a speed limit of 45 mph.learn more on wikipedia
