French Riviera
The French Riviera, also known as the Côte d'Azur, is a Mediterranean coastline in the southeast corner of France. It is considered to be the coastal area of the Alpes-Maritimes department, extending from the Massif de l'Esterel to Menton, and contains the seaside resorts of Cap-d'Ail, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, and others. The region was a popular destination for the British upper class in the 18th and 19th centuries, and later became a hub for artists, writers, and wealthy tourists. Today, it is home to over two million people, with a diverse population of 163 nationalities and a high concentration of students and researchers. The largest city in the region is Nice, which is the center of a metropolitan area with a population of over 500,000 people.learn more on wikipedia
