Denali

Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet above sea level. It is the tallest mountain in the world from base-to-peak on land, measuring 18,000 feet. Denali is a granitic pluton, mostly pink quartz monzonite, that was lifted by tectonic pressure from the subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath the North American Plate. The mountain was originally known as Mount McKinley, named after President William McKinley in 1896, but was officially renamed Denali in 2015.
