Church Of The Holy Sepulchre
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a fourth-century church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem and the seat of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem. It contains the site where Jesus was crucified at Calvary and the location of his empty tomb, and has been an important pilgrimage site for Christians since the fourth century. The church has undergone several renovations and restorations, including a significant departure from the original structure after it was captured by the Crusaders in 1099. It is currently shared among several Christian denominations and secular entities under the Status Quo agreement, which dates back to 1757. The church is considered one of the most holy sites in Christianity and is the traditional site of the resurrection of Christ.learn more on wikipedia
