Challenger II
The FV4034 Challenger 2 is a third-generation British main battle tank designed by Vickers Defence Systems (now BAE Systems Land & Armaments) as a private venture in 1986. It features a 120-millimetre rifled tank gun, second-generation Chobham armour, and a Perkins CV12-6A V12 diesel engine, with a range of 550 kilometres and a maximum road speed of 59 kilometres per hour. The tank has been in service with the British Army since 1998, and has been used in various conflicts, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Iraq. The Challenger 2 has undergone various upgrades to improve its protection, mobility, and lethality, and is set to be gradually replaced by the Challenger 3 from 2027. The tank has been exported to Oman and Ukraine, and has seen combat in the Russo-Ukrainian War.learn more on wikipedia
