Black Sea
The Black Sea is a marginal Mediterranean sea located between Europe and Asia, bounded by six countries: Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. It covers an area of 436,400 km2, has a maximum depth of 2,212 m, and a volume of 547,000 km3. The sea is supplied by major rivers, including the Danube, Dnieper, and Dniester, and has a positive water balance with an annual net outflow of 300 km3 per year through the Turkish Straits into the Aegean Sea. The Black Sea has a unique characteristic of having a permanent layer of deep water that is anoxic, which has led to the preservation of ancient shipwrecks. The sea is connected to the Mediterranean Sea via the Turkish Straits and the Aegean Sea, and its water level has varied significantly over geological time, sometimes forming dry land on the surrounding shelf.learn more on wikipedia
