The United States and Iran announced on June 14 a framework to end hostilities, lift the U.S. blockade of Iran, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a move that initially lowered oil prices but leaves Iran’s nuclear program unresolved. The memorandum of understanding is set to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday.
The oil is plummeting down, the oil has taken its biggest plunge. We're getting close, closer to the number which were before we started.
JD is coming in for it. He was originally going to do it. I'll probably be done by then….I may be involved I may not, but JD is coming specifically for that.
I want it to be released because it is a very powerful document. It is not like the Obama document, which was terrible. Probably pretty soon, I would say sometime after Friday.
Ships are starting to move many loaded up with oil, out of the strait of Hormuz, They are going along the southern highway which is totally safe secure and pristine. There are other areas of travel also.
I think a lot of great things are going to happen in the Middle East right now. And very importantly, the oil is plummeting down and the stock market is shooting up like a rocket today.
Many presidents have tried to make Peace with Iran, and all have failed before me.
To be honest with you, he should be very thankful to us for doing this. Because if Iran had a nuclear weapon, Israel wouldn't be around for two hours.
The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete.
We already signed the deal digitally yesterday .
Our expectation is that the strait is going to be opened in a toll-free way for the long term, and that's the sort of thing that we're going to figure out in these technical negotiations.
I guess my primary message to the American people is 'thank you.' Because of your patience, I think that we solved the problem that has plagued this country.
I'm not going to say that everybody's going to sing Kumbaya tomorrow.
We are just going to keep on working at it, keep on driving energy prices down, keep on ensuring that region of the world is less than a basket case and finally, and most importantly, celebrate, that we can say with confidence Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
What we know is that we have a lot of work to do, but a very big win for the American people tonight.
What the president has done is create the real space to transform that region. And now, hopefully a new era with the Iranians.
America is lucky to have a leader with such incredible courage, remarkable strength, an unmatched sense of humor, and an unparalleled love of country.
Congratulations to all in getting us to this point.
Under our law, any nuclear deal with Iran will be sent to Congress for review and a vote.
I am somewhat concerned that Iran's view of the agreement seems different than what the American negotiating team is claiming.
Unlike the agreement reached under the Obama administration, this deal will not allow Iran to continue enriching uranium and build up the components necessary to build a nuclear weapon.
With an agreement or without an agreement, Iran will not have nuclear weapons – not today and not tomorrow.
We will monitor the implementation of US commitments.
This memorandum of understanding does not mean trusting the enemy.
We are clear that toll-free freedom of navigation must now be restored.
Attention must now turn to fully implementing the memorandum of understanding to ensure the Strait reopens and remains fully and permanently open, and that the detailed elements of the nuclear agreement are finalised.
