US Postal Service Suspends Temporary Acceptance of Packages from Mainland China and Hong Kong
ai generated text
The US Postal Service (USPS) temporarily halted the acceptance of parcels from mainland China and Hong Kong on Tuesday, reportedly due to the ongoing trade tensions between the US and China.
As a matter of principle, I want to point out that we urge the United States to stop politicising trade and economic issues and using them as tools, and to stop the unreasonable suppression of Chinese companies.
Trump's tariff changes are especially sharp if goods were previously shipped via e-commerce directly from China to the US.
There has really been absolutely zero time for anyone to prepare for this.
What we really need is direction from the government on how to handle this without warning or notice.
China also diversified its trade away from the United States after previous tariffs. Research shows that China has sought out alternative markets for its agriculture imports, even while the United States remains reliant on Chinese import demand.
