Israel's Gaza Offensive Sparks Warnings of Sanctions from UK, France, and Canada
ai generated text
Britain, France, and Canada have issued a joint statement warning Israel to stop its military offensive in Gaza, stating that the Israeli government's denial of humanitarian aid to civilians is unacceptable. The three countries have condemned Israel's actions in Gaza, with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressing their opposition to Israel's threat to displace civilians. Israel has announced that it will allow limited humanitarian aid into Gaza, but the UN aid chief has described the delivery as "limited".
By asking Israel to end a defensive war for our survival before Hamas terrorists on our border are destroyed and by demanding a Palestinian state, the leaders in London, Ottawa and Paris are offering a huge prize for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7 while inviting more such atrocities.
It's a really serious, unacceptable, intolerable situation, and that's why we are working intensely to coordinate with other leaders on how we respond to this.
I want to put on record today that we're horrified by the escalation from Israel … We repeat our demand for a ceasefire.
For two months now, no humanitarian supplies have entered Gaza. Aid must reach civilians in need immediately and the blockade on Gaza must be lifted now.
The situation in Gaza is catastrophic. The aid that Israel has allowed in is, of course, welcomed, but it's a drop in the ocean. Aid must flow immediately, without obstruction and at scale, because this is what is needed.
Once [human rights] violations are established then the [accord] can be suspended.
Will you act – decisively – to prevent genocide and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law? Or will you say instead, 'we did all we could?'
To reduce looting, there must be a regular flow of aid, and humanitarians must be permitted to use multiple routes. Commercial goods should complement the humanitarian response.
But it is a drop in the ocean of what is urgently needed, and significantly more aid must be allowed into Gaza, starting tomorrow morning.
Now we conquer, cleanse and stay – until Hamas is destroyed.
If, due to anti-Israel obsession and domestic political considerations, the British government is willing to harm the British economy – that is its own prerogative.
