Iran Launches Widespread Ballistic Missile Attack Against Israel
Iran launched a missile attack on Israel on Tuesday, firing approximately 180-200 ballistic missiles at various targets in the country. The attack was reportedly in retaliation for the assassinations of Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and other high-ranking officials. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that the attack was in accordance with the United Nations Charter and was a response to an "attack on the sovereignty" of Iran. The Israeli military said that most of the missiles were intercepted with US help, but several hit locations in Israel, causing damage and injuries. Iran's senior military commanders claimed that the attack was a success, and that they had managed to overcome Israel's anti-aircraft defenses. The US stated that the missile attack appeared to have been "defeated and ineffective."
It was thwarted thanks to Israel's air defense system, which is the most advanced in the world.
This evening, Iran made a big mistake — and it will pay for it.
The regime in Iran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to retaliate against our enemies.
The United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel.
The 36th Division, including soldiers of the Golani Brigade, 188th Armoured Brigade, 6th Infantry Brigade, and additional forces are joining the limited, localised, targeted raids on Hezbollah terror targets and terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon that began on Monday.
During the Iranian attack yesterday [Tuesday], several missiles fell within Israeli air force bases. No offensive infrastructure or capabilities located on IAF [Israel Air Force] bases were damaged.
If the Zionist regime reacts to Iran's operation it will face more fierce attacks.
The enemy is in a state of desperation and is trying to prove himself successful with psychological operations, with one or two operations that mainly rely on terror, but there is no such success for him.
Israel's enablers now have a heightened responsibility to rein in the warmongers in Tel Aviv instead of getting involved in their folly.
Our action is concluded unless [the] Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation.
The Iranians will pay a major price for what they did yesterday … it means they won't be able to fire again on Israel.
