At least 13 people dead, 20 children missing in Texas flash flood
At least 13 people have died and multiple are missing in South-Central Texas due to flash flooding caused by heavy rains. The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes, resulting in destructive flooding and loss of property and life. Some children from a summer camp remain unaccounted for, with Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick stating that their disappearance does not necessarily mean they are lost, they could be stranded in a tree. The Texas Hill Country was severely affected, with up to 10 inches of rain falling in a few hours, causing flash flooding and prompting desperate pleas for information from people with relatives in the area. Search teams are conducting boat and helicopter rescues in the fast-moving water that has overwhelmed riverfront communities. The National Weather Service has warned of life-threatening conditions and advised people not to venture out onto roads due to washed out roads and rapid river and creek rises.

Conditions are life-threatening! DO NOT go out onto the roads.
This happened very quickly, over a very short period of time, that could not be predicted, even with the radar.
One of them was completely naked, he didn't have any ID on him at all. We're trying to get the identity of these folks, but we don't have it yet.
This is the most dangerous river valley in the United States.
I urge Texans to heed guidance from state and local officials and monitor local forecasts to avoid driving into flooded areas.
Air rescue missions like this are being done around the clock. We will not stop until everyone is accounted for.
We are in search-and-rescue mode, and we know that these first 24 hours are very important.
That does not mean [the missing children] have been lost. They could be out of communication.
Within 45 minutes, the Guadalupe River rose 26 feet and it was a destructive flood - taking property and sadly lives.

Some are adults, some are children. At this point, we don't know where they all came from.
The highway has washed away so we are struggling to get more help. Please continue to pray and send any help if you have contacts to do so.
We are working with search and rescue currently.
Thankfully he's over 6ft tall. That's the only thing that saved me, was hanging on to him.
My son and I floated to a tree where we hung onto it, and my boyfriend and my dog floated away. He was lost for a while, but we found them.
